Beauty is both timeless and fleeting. It is ideal, and it is material. To find beauty is a gift of the present, and yet it is also a participation in the endless song of seasons.
In a recent workshop I co-led with Manny Librodo in Kuala Lumpur, 15 photographers captured Kharunisia soaring through seasons--in color, expression, and grace. Here are the seasons with Kharunisia, through my eyes.
Special thanks to Manny, who pushed me out of the nest so I could fly. Much thanks to Dr. Banhup Teh, who organized the workshop. To the participants, who made it all possible with their energy and warmth. And heartfelt thanks to Kharu, without whom the story would never have taken flight.
This gallery will be updated. Please comment and vote should you find merit in these images. Salamat.
my lover was like a sunflower
taught to turn to light
even when dark
summers i held you close
together we sang
like day and sun
distance was nothing
i came to you afloat
clinging to solid light
a bouquet of metaphors
a swarm of wishes
one wish only one
a dance with purity
a dance with joy
a dance with longing
you are my mirror
even the walls burn
summer's end always a surprise
and light turned cold
walls shivered
the timbre of autumn light
[box me in]
[burn me]
[sway me]
take me up
take me in
take me up
the world burns
i would hold the fire
and shroud me with it
always doubtful
grasping at clarity
never holding light
move my walls
trap me
begging never beyond
frozen
a lovely chill
my joy thaws
blue light brings winter
time for a heart to sleep
pray and dream
until the morning of discontent
throws open the senseless veil
pleads a release
oblivion?
redemption?
birth and death entwined?
spring always begins softly
a blush
visits a delight
renewal
beauty
hope
celebratory
ritual
grace
a power in rebirth
a sensuous renewal
a poised freedom
these are thoughts
perhaps
and perhaps
i dream of finding one kiss
one dance
waiting somewhere not far
when summer again
perhaps
and perhaps, summer

Looking at this inspiring gallery i can't help but feel that I'm seeing this for the first time. It's like I wasn't there when you shot these images. You are trully a gifted artist and thank you for sharing your creativity. Voted!
Beauty is a frail flower, which can be stronger than steel.
It grows everywhere, but often its invisible and it becomes real only when we can see it and realize all its power
Enchanting work!
