One of my favorite Aloha images -- you abstract the man by shooting him from behind, so that the viewer faces this mass of colored ribbons just as he does. The rich color of the ribbons is carried by rhythmic repetition across the entire image, gradually fading into darkness. You suggest that this search for merit is infinite and must never end. The letters on top of those panels fade into darkness as well. Even the random accident of his clothing works here -- the shirt is divided into little rectangles just as the long panels are. Once again, you blend abstraction and incongruity to express human values.
