Built in 674 CE by King Munmu, the Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond served as the secondary palace for the Crown Prince of the Silla Kingdom.
Long left in ruins after the dynasty’s end, it was meticulously restored in the late 20th century to showcase the refined aesthetic of the Silla era.
