Whalers Cove

Point Lobos St. Res

California coast often has dense fog in summer. The fog came from the ocean and suddenly we couldn't see anything. As I learn later the fog is an essential summer water source for many Big Sur coastal plants. Most plants cannot take water directly out of the air, but the condensation on leaf surfaces slowly precipitates into the ground like rain.

No sooner do I comment on the fog in your other image, than I come to this one which is even more obscured by a thick layer. It's like the distance is being erased!

The fog is also an essential source of abstraction in photography, Alina. You use it beautifully here.
