i took the kids to belton house this afternoon that was after i'd had an hour in the hammock after three hours, yes three hours at the pool because they "were bored" and "wanted something too do". where do they get their energy from?? well it was a gorgeous afternoon, sunny but not unbearably hot so off we went. it was "family day" and it seemed the world, his wife and the 2.4 kids were there. we found the last parking space in the overflow field some 3.5 miles away from where the action was happening but from this distance we could see a plethora of kites being flown from the lawn, which incidentally is a cricket pitch, so we headded in that direction. they looked great. everyone was having fun. "can we have one dad." well being a sucker for anything to keep the kids happy i said yes go choose one but make sure it's under a tenner! they came back with one like this - £9.90 and 10p change. we hastily found a suitable spot and assembled said kite, made a loop in the string and argued the toss who was going to launch and who was going to fly... guess what... the wind suddenly dropped to force 0 on the beaufort scale and remained that way for the rest of the day!! this is therefore a picture of someone elses kite which inspired us to buy one the same... cheers, thanks, thanks a lot!! |
