Falaknuma Palace is one of the 35 palaces which King Nizam of Hyderabad owned. Once the richest man in the world, he had hosted gusts such as Kind George V, Queen Mary and Queen Victoria in this very palace. It is shaped in the form of a scorpion in representing his zodiac sign.
The Falaknuma Palace has 132 rooms with a private wing that is used as a hotel. Inside, it is a whole world of luxury - made of 32 kinds of Italian marble, 10 types of leather and many types of wood. It has the longest dining table what seats 120 and a ballroom with a jade collection estimated at US$120m. The palace is so lavish, even the handles to the wardrobes are made out of crystal. As this is one of the many palaces he owned, it is believed the dining and ballroom has only been used 4 times.
