Definition B: A posted command, warning or direction.

B8: What is interesting about this group of photographs is the fact they are part of the same family as B1. The main difference being that they appear to be hand painted. To gain full understanding of these signs one has to consider the country in which they exist. Within their cultural reference it appears these signs command an authority. These signs might not command the same authority in my own culture due to their appearance. As all these examples were photographed in different countries to my own, one also has to consider my own cultural background to understand what made me want to photograph them.
