The Hmoung people celebrate their New Year on the 11th Month of the lunar calendar. We are fortunate being able coincide our visit during their New Year.
These children or teenager comes out to play a game of throwing balls with each other during these festive time; at first we though that it was tourist attraction organized by the villager to draw in the tourist. How wrong I was.
The village teenagers’ from different villages comes out to throw ball to each other to break the ice and so doing are encourage to talk and socialize with the opposite sex. Marriages of these teenager’s are determine if they likes each other after these simple socializing. Sound ridiculous to many of us but this are the simple life of the villagers.
