This very kind family invited me into their home, where they had recently sacrificed (their word) a goat for Eid. It had been decapitated and its blood drained (quite a lot of it on the concrete living room floor) and then the workmen skinned it. I was given a bowl with a mixture of sweet milk and dried fruit to eat; afterwards one of the young men (studying to be a pharmacist) took me onto the roof of their house where he explained the significance of Eid and told me about the benefits of the Muslim religion.
