Walking about in Bargerveen.
Bargerveen is a remnant of the former large bog site, Bourtangerveen (Bourtanger Moor), which formed a natural border between the Netherlands and Germany.
The bog was in serious decline and a major effort is undertaken by Staatsbosbeheer to restore the original bog. Natural formation of raised bog is now slowly beginning and during the
next decade the mysterious raised bog landscape with it’s treacherous pools, moors and dead trees will develop. Giving home again to unique flora and fauna and to the curious human being with a camera..
I intend to expand this series gradually over time as Bargerveen evolves and I can spend time
