Micromoths are mostly small and relatively inconspicuous moths including most of the more primitive lineages, many of which rarely attract attention from non-professional lepidopterists. In most parts of the world, these are by far the least documented sections of the Lepidoptera and numerous species are still undescribed. More than three-quarters of the superfamilies fall into this enormous group.
