There's No Place Like Home

Glenda the good witch couldn't have said anything more true than those five wonderful words. There really is no place like home.

We left after Christmas to visit my husbands family in New York State, a place where they actually have four seasons. We arrived late Wednesday night, and awoke to a snow storm on Thursday. It was wonderful to see. Snow is amazing to me, so soft and pretty. If you step outside it is so quiet, I am certain you can hear each snowflake fall. The wind blows softly, and there is a freezing cold in the air that you can feel deep into your lungs. It really is something to behold.

I am a southerner thru and thru. I can't help it, God knew what he was doing when he let me be born and raised in the good 'ol south. I like "southern snow", the kind that is here today, gone tomorrow. Sorta, Wham, bam thank you ma'am kind of snow.

Since we are home, I am processing pictures, in the order of importance. I will get to the ones of our trip, but while I was looking thru pics, I came across this one. I had to share it. It's especially for those that really don't like winter... those that live in Ohio, or Illinois... those that have proudly proclaimed they "hate winter".

Today it was 70 here in South Carolina.... yep.. there's no place like home.

Technically all is a delight...visually a pleasure to share. I particularly like how you have used DOF..

Love your "wham, bam, Thank you, Mam" description of Southern snow. That's so true here in Western NC, thankfully! Lived in New York most of my life and the only thing I miss about it is waking up to the sun. Here in the mountains daylight takes a long time to arrive...and it often has to travel through a haze of fog.

"It's especially for those that really don't like winter... those that live in Ohio, or Illinois... those that have proudly proclaimed they "hate winter"."

Hey, I resemble that remark. ;)
