The Cruiser "Aurora"

This was the Cruiser that fired a blank round on the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, signalling the start of the Russian Revolution in 1917. A light cruiser of 6700 tons armed with 14 6" (152mm) guns, she was laid down in 1896 and was one of the few Russian survivors of the Battle of Tsushima in 1905. She seved in both the world wars and was sunk in 1941, before being raised and repaired after the war. Today, she is a museum ship.
