Dash-8s are Rapido with some upgraded details (horn, air filters) and addition of safety decals. SD60F is Kaslo shell on Athearn SD60 chassis – and Athearn end handrails.

One item of note: I tried a Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color for the first time on the Dash-8s to bring out the recessed door panel lines – and it works very well, Just make sure you are in a well ventilated area as it has a strong smell. You can see the effect in the photo of 2422 with the Tamiya bottle. This was the first step in weathering – before fadeing, etc. I also used their Dark Brown as a wash for the SD60F dynamic brake grill and the area underneath after fading.

I model 1992-1996, so I wanted 2443 to look relatively fresh still. The other two units were faded to represent years of service and received more weathering.
