Yosemite National Park, January 24-27, 2013

Donna and I returned to Yosemite National Park in January during a full-moon winter weekend. A nice thick coating of snow on the valley floor helped create a wonderful winter scene, and cool sunny days - and no crowds - helped make for a great visit. As luck would have it, we were given a very reasonable upgrade from the Yosemite Lodge to the famed Ahwahnee Hotel, at which I've only eaten breakfast during my many previous visits. The accommodations were much more luxurious than the Curry Village tent cabins that I've typically stayed in over the years, including my first visit in July 1982 when I hitchhiked into and out of the park.
