Two renowned, colorful Chico area women celebrated their twin milestone birthdays on Friday, June 5, with a massive party at the Chico Grange. Weezie Campbell, local massage therapist to the masses, turned 60, and vibrant watercolor artist Marianna Love turned 70. About 250 of their closest friends came to celebrate with a massive potluck, tributes, a giant three-ringed blessing circle out in the cool drizzle, and plenty of music inside: Mel Watson and Jen Todd, Robert Bowman, John-Michael Sun and Susan Dobra, Ma Muse, Claudia Cuentas, and the Steveie Cook Band, which was in essence a special acoustic version of legendary Chico group Spark 'n' Cinder. A coupla neighbors who called the cops 'cause some car tires were a few centimeters into the roadway, couldn't put a damper on the epic shindig. Long live the queens!
