T Sisters, Midnight North, Terrapin Crossroads, San Rafael, Calif., January 29, 2016
Two sassy bands gathered together at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California, on January 29, 2016. The T Sisters, fronted by three soaring-voiced front women (sister Erika can play a fine guitar as well) and stalwart male bass player and guitarist/mandolinist (an drummer on this night), made their first appearance at TCR. Joining them for an opening set, as well as fun collaborations were TCR mainstays Midnight North, fronted by the multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Elliott Peck, along with the guitar/vocalist Grahame Lesh, who more than lives up to his family musical pedigree. Noting the Grateful Dead-friendly crowd, the T Sisters presented an epic three-harmony version of "Bird Song," and both bands collaborated on such Dead-eque gems as "Ripple," "Goin' Down the Road," and "You Ain't Women Enough."
