Magalia-DeSabla-Stirling City snow - Feb. 20, 2011

After a nice snowfall on Feb. 17 and a little more on the 19th, I spent Sunday morning making one of my 18-mile journeys up the Skyway to Inskip, a virtually uninhabited 4,800-foot-elevation northern Sierra Nevada winter wonderland. This time, with the freshly fallen snow unplowed past Stirling City, I turned around before getting stuck. Sometimes, discretion is the better part of valor.
