The winter of 2011-12 provided a less-than-normal amount of rain and snow here in northern Calfornia, but March and April have been making up for it. And, late this past week, a cold spring storm brought another needed thick layer of snow into the Sierra Nevada, helping to ensure adequate water in the creeks, streams, and reservoirs over the dry summer. Sometimes, like fishers have been known to exaggerate the size of their catch, people sometimes tend to overstate snowfall totals. But indeed Inskip, at about the 4,800-foot level here in Butte County, and just 18 miles up The Skyway from Magalia, received a fresh 2 1/2 feet of snow.
