Every year, the Sierra foothills town of Paradise, Calif., celebrates its Gold Rush history, particularly the 1859 discovery of a 54-pound gold nugget nearby, with Gold Nugget Days. The biggest event of the weekend, the Gold Nugget Paradise, draws thousands. Here are some images of this year's festivities along the Skyway. Photos by Alan Sheckter / NorCalEdit@sbcglobal.net.
