The Fall Risk, with Phil Lesh, June 23, 2012, Terrapin Crossroads, San Rafael, CA

On the 36th anniversary of my first Grateful Dead show, The Fall Risk, led by Jeff Pehrson (Furthur, Box Set), was the first non-Phil & friends / non-Ramble show to appear at Terrapin Crossroads, the new nightclub/restaurant run by Phil Lesh of The Grateful Dead. The new digs, which occupy the site of the old Palm Ballroom and Seafood Peddler Restaurant, are situated on a real nice space along the town's canal, and the food was really good! For this show, Phil Lesh himself was the special guest and helped kick-start the show with a thunderous triad of old favorites. Set one (first three with Phil Lesh on bass): Dear Mr. Fantasy, All Along the Watchtower, Squeeze Box (The Who), Cry Baby Cry, Hollow, If Love is the Answer, Le Claire, HBWA.
