Same-Sex Marriage/Equal Rights rally and march, Chico, CA, Nov. 15, 2008

Synchronized with many similar rallies across the country on Nov. 15, 2008, hundreds gathered at City Plaza in Chico, California, in support of same-sex marriages. The local event, called "Our Families Count, Too," followed the Nov. 4 approval of a state proposition that re-defined marriage to be only between one man and one woman. After a 90-minute program at City Plaza that included music and speeches by local activists and members of Chico City Council, the crowd of several hundred peacefully marched around downtown Chico on an unseasonably warm mid-November afternoon.
