Donna the Buffalo, Sierra Nevada Big Room, Chico, CA, Aug. 5, 2013
After more than 20 years on the circuit, Donna the Buffalo (sounds like "Dawn of the Buffalo") made their first visit to Chico, Calif., performing at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.'s Big Room on Aug. 5, 2013. Led by front duo Tara Nevins on washboard, fiddle, guitar, and vocals, and Jeb Puryear on electric guitar and vocals, the band had the dance floor in constant motion with their self-described "soulful electric Americana mix infused with elements of cajun/ zydeco, rock, folk, reggae, and country." The Believers, a duo from Nashville, opened the show. All images ŠAlan Sheckter / AlSheck@comcast.net
