March Fourth Marching Band at Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp, Chico, CA, July 19, 2014. More than 100 microbreweries from the Northwest region of the U.S. came together to pour at the first-ever Beer Camp, hosted by, and at, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in Chico, Calif. My assignment was to particularly focus on the the afternoon's entertainers, uber-awesome March Fourth Marching Band. Based in Portland, OR., M4MB takes the audience "on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the gypsy camps of eastern Europe to the African jungle by way of Brazil, echoing the deepest grooves of American funk, rock, and jazz then boiling it all together in cinematic fashion with high-stepping stilt-acrobatics and dazzling dancers."
