Monument to celebrate the times (between the 15th and 16th centuries)
when the Portuguese ships roamed the oceans and made known to all, many
places yet unknown.
It stands like a "caravel" with sails unfurled, ready to depart,
almost "licking" the Tagus river, its ever present companion.
