"Porto seen from Gaia"

Spent just a few hours in Porto
and this one is the "cliche" kind of photo
that everyone makes when goes there...
I suppose I should not even upload it,
but damn... I love it, so I don't really care :)

And this is how the "poscard" section of my galleries begins...

(Peço desculpa ao Jorge por não ter tido tempo de o avisar
que ia estar no Porto para bebermos 1 café, mas isto
foi uma viagem relampago que não estava planeada :)
vai ter de ficar para uma proxima vez, ok?)

Some wine Guilliom?? :) Of course!!! Just kidding... these boats are there just for the beauty of it, but there used to be a time when they were actually the main transportation of the "Port" wine that was produced (and still is) on the hills upper river (still far from the city, though the wine carries its name).
The wine isn't transported in such a "romantic" way, but it's still magnificent, if we can afford to buy a good vintage instead of the regular kind. Port wine is a favorite of mine, but I am very picky about it and I only drink extra good ones ;)

I love the play with lines beetween the boats (& the quai) and the bridge which cut them perpendiculary, a structure which set very well the comp. Love the light too.
(ps: quite interesting boats. Is there some wine?!:)

excellent saturation of colour.

All of those summer eyes smiling from the ocean of hills.Like winks of seashore foam rolling beneath blue.Dipping the thoughts of their toes gingerly into the azure mirror lightly ruffled by anchored kelpy sails. And treasuring the color joys of July.
