bonjour Ana.

Day ands-night start.....it could have this title also......Cuz we always spearate our days and night...at night we are on a rush..doing the daily stuff, what everyone need to do....the normal, ordinarry life-BUT than,at night we became travellers..in our dreams, fantasy, and imagiantion...........So...i think this shot is a great opening for your daily life galrey, cuz it shows, that u go to dream, and fanatcise every single day!:)

Love u
A.

Many years ago I read a novel about a spanish bullfighter. And among the pages slipped a small image of a flamenco dancer whirling with vivant upon a shadowed stage.A graceful energy of melody of cascading hair and blurred swirl dress that one could barely imagine from the sleepy lights. As I view your image these qualities rise fondly again. The dramatic pull of cloth ,the feminine form as a swan against reflected lakeshine, the intensity and release of a movement .Sensitive and senastional :-)

Excellent. Great Iberian broodiness to this. I feel like reading Hemingway again, LOL!

Emotion, confusion, abstraction ==> ART
You PaD is a intime world, an invitation to dream

I like the subtle erotic play, al done in dim light, as it is most effective.
Well though, well done.

Yes dear Richard! I will owe you forever to get me started on the self portrait game
;-) I really wanted to do them for long, but I guess that all I needed was a big push and it was your challenge that did it... Remeber that I was the first to answer to it?? So, the ideas had been there for a long time just wanting to get out.
Thank you Richard Kirby for that & many other things!!! You rule!!!!!

Kal -- the intrusion into a private moment is the whole point of Ana's image. It is all about intimacy. And yes, voyeurism. It is a very sensual moment, almost a mirror image of Ana's swimmer's nightmare image at:http://www.pbase.com/alagoa/image/43859809 . In that shot, she teases us with a black bar across the chest. In this, with the abstraction of darkness. But in both, she is playing with our imaginations by making us present at moments that are usually kept private.

I just really love your skirt Ana.
Kal Khogali09-Aug-2005 01:11
Sorry I should have been more emphatic, you are undressing For Us!, not just in front of us. Now I am really in trouble.
Kal Khogali09-Aug-2005 01:03
I love it ANA (sorry just wanted to make sure I got it right this time ;-)) You abstract it well through the silhouette, but you allow us just enough of a glimpse to wonder what your day has been like. The blouse and skirt, the falling hair, all of these are part of the expression. The main incongruity for me here is the intrusion in to the private moment, it is almost sensuous, as though you are undressing in front of us (am I allowed to think that? Now I am really in trouble with Sara). We don't belong in here, but we are, and now we are wondering what your day was really like.
Phil Douglis08-Aug-2005 23:47
Wonderful image, Ana. It works much better now -- you always involve the viewers imagination with your pictures, and now you do so with your title as well.
Phil Douglis08-Aug-2005 21:30
Nice concept, Ana. Abstract intimacy. You take places where we would normally never go, yet once we get there, you call upon our imaginations to do all the work. The abstraction also tells a story in itself -- the dark subject reinforces the idea well. My only suggestion is to kill the obvious title. If you drop the caption and re-title the photograph "At Day's End," the viewer will know you must be undressing.
