Norway, May 2005

I had the pleasure of being in Oslo on business during the week of Norway's national holiday, May 17. This year (2005) is the 100th anniversary of Norway's independence, which made the event quite special.

Photos in this gallery include many shots from the May 17 "Children's Parade," as well as others around Oslo and shots from the famous one-day "Norway in a Nutshell" circuit, which goes by train from Oslo to the tiny mountain town of Myrdal, by mountain railway down to the town of Flam on the Aurlandsfjord, by boat down the fjord to Gudvangen, by bus via Stalheim to Voss, by train to Bergen, then back to Oslo late at night by plane. An awful lot of amazing scenery to pack into one day.

I'll be going to Jerusalem, Barcelona, and Berlin this summer. Hope to get back to Norway sometime soon.
