The Motherland Statue - a very large monument on top of "The Great Patriotic War Museum"

Looming over the Dnepr from atop a hill, the statue was erected in 1981.

According to kievcityguide.net, "The figure is made of chrome nickel steel and
weighs 550 tons. It is 62 metres high, but in total, including the base it stands
at 102 metres! In the left hand the figure is holding shield which is decorated
with the state symbol of USSR. In the right hand there is a sword which
weighs 12 tons and is 16 metres long."
