2072 Oh Man, I Know Exactly How You Feel!

Canberra Centre, Canberra ACT Australia

I probably shouldn't over-describe some of my images since it gives away whatever meagre "magic" they may possess. But since this one turned out EXACTLY how I planned, and since it's only the second "successful" (well, in my view anyway) candid I've done (OK, maybe third), I can't help myself.

As I was having breakfast in the Canberra Centre food court, I saw this gentleman trying to catch up on some shut-eye in a way that suggested "Oh, my achin' neck..." On the monitor in the background a series of advertisements kept repeating, including one for a pain relief capsule. So it was just a question of waiting... and waiting... and... bingo!

And with that, I finally figured out what nefarious uses live view on the 40D can be put to. 8^>

("Who, me? I'm just sitting here reading my paper and having my breakfast. My camera's just sitting over there minding its own business with its remote control cable just sitting under my hand...")

Never understimate the usefulness of live view. When it is the right tool, it usually the only one that will do the job. Your image is well thought out and executed.

I'm glad you wrote what you did because it adds so much to this image. So often a shot like this is a lucky grab, noticed only when reviewing what you shot for the day. This one, on the other hand, shows the work of an artist making the shot. Well done! ~V~
