0571 The Picture Doesn't Always...

Kiama Blowhole NSW

... tell the story. What would your first thought be here? An estranged couple, he hangs his head down, she looks on in sadness at the loss of their initmacy?

Not even close. What happened was this. I was doing some landscape shots using my 70-200; a great lens for reaching out, but a ridiculous lens for trying to do close-up people shots. (At least in theory, though it helps if you have more than half a second to compose the image.) Just then, a totally smitten, snuggle-bunny pair of Japanese honeymooners came up to the lookout to take in the sunrise. As you can tell from my galleries, candids aren't my thayng. But I figured "what the hey, why not?" And so I was able to snap one shot, just one, before they wandered off, hand in hand and laughing.

And this shot was it. A picture which is the antithesis of the true story.

Hey, sometimes life (and photography) is like that...

You are right, my first thought was sadness and I actually felt a bit sorry for them - until I read your comment anyway.
