Probably more interesting than the texture of the sandstone itself was the concentric patterns in the stone and the grass. Or perhaps not... in the eye of the beholder and all.
This and other shots from the same day were taken during my lunch break, and you can gather some impression of the harsh Australian summer sun from them; not the most artistic time to be taking photos, but hey, this is what we live with down here. Sun, humid air and heat beating down on sandstone is somewhat iconically Australian.
