Rosemary, or il rosmarino, has been used as a symbol of remembrance for centuries. It was even mentioned in that role in Shakespeare's Hamlet.
I suppose I could have done with remembering that I had taken a photo in the garden the previous day. Two in two days is a little monotonous by my standards since I like to rotate my subjects a bit. However this time I have an excuse.
First, this time I used the much more suitable macro lens. That lens had been so long neglected in the last couple of years that it's probably wondering what on Earth is happening this year.
Second, I really, really like our rosemary shrub and had a long standing plan to get a shot of it. However where it is located it only gets sunshine through part of the day, and with the weather's split personality of late clouds would come over just as I saw the sun hit it.
True, the shrub has gone feral and is now so large that it forces you off the footpath when walking around the house. But the scent of its leaves is so nice that I'll forgive it for that.
Today was supposed to be grey and rainy again but as you can see... bright and sunny. As you can't, but I felt... hot and humid.
I don't think I nailed the subject (that was not helped by the fact that there was just enough wind to move the branches around), but at least this time I got a few shots that I was happy with. Set against the green blur of the trees in the background, this is probably my favourite.
Yes, there are spider webs on it. It's summer, and it's Australia. There are spider webs EVERY-bloody-where.
