As you could see from image 30346, you can look in the back of the C-47 but you can't go in. That means that you can't see what the cockpit is like, so they've brought the cockpit to you, in a fashion.
Or at least I'm assuming that this is a C-47 control panel since there is nothing to put it in context. I would like to believe that I've become more systematic about my shooting over the last 11 years, but I probably assumed that I'd be processing these shots... well, LESS than a decade after they were taken. I really should be doing shots in order rather than "Here's a C-47! Here's a Lancaster tail! Here's a dummy Corsair! Here's a C-47 again!"
That said, I looked up some instrument panels of old C-47s. They aren't an instrument for instrument match for this one (obviously the panels changed with differing models) but the general layout (and especially the block in the middle) looks very similar to what I found.
So I'm guessing that this is indeed a Gooney Bird instrument panel, or at least a training version of one.
Addendum: My personal opinion is that Facebook is a sociopathic organisation that steals other peoples' intellectual property (including the images in this gallery) despite being explicitly denied permission to do so.
