Davide Bartesaghi was born in Erba, Italia in the province of Como, just to the north of Milano, in December 2005. That means that he was a mere 18 years old at the time of this game.

He started off playing as a forward for Atalanta, but moved to the AC Milan youth team in 2012 where he gradually moved further and further back in the field and now plays as a left back albeit with attacking duties generally.

He has appeared for both the Italia under 18 and under 19 teams (3 appearances and one goal, and 8 appearances respectively) as well as putting in 6 appearances in the senior team over the course of 2023/24. Technically he is still classified as part of the Primavera team, wearing number 3. When he plays with the big boys, however, he has to give that one up in exchange for the #95 we see here.

As you can see (if you're looking at a large enough resolution), he is a left footer. Seeing a large gap in the defensive line, and with only the goalkeeper to beat, I can imagine him thinking that his moment has come. The possibility of a goal in the senior team dangled in front of him!

And indeed, he made a powerful and straight kick. Not quite straight enough, unfortunately (for him, not us). The ball flew off to the right, and was probably a fraction high as well.

From his body language in the later frames where he just turned and walked to the right, I think he knew as soon as the ball left his foot that is dream moment was not to be. Not yet, anyway.
