My original plan was to take some shots of the Sandon Point boatsheds at sunrise using the fisheye lens.
Problem 1: I was there too early. Problem 2: The sunrise was in the wrong place. Problem 3: The Tide Is High, as Blondie once said, so as you can see from this shot taken from one of the shed ramps there is no way the ocean was going to let me stand in front of those sheds without copping a drenching.
I therefore shot FROM the sheds out to the ocean, creating an orb effect.
And while on the subject of orbs, it was still dark as I made my way down to the beach from the top of the cliff. I had the phone's torch on the path, naturally. It's rather a pity that I therefore missed seeing the gigantic spider web that an Orb-weaver spider had woven RIGHT ACROSS THE GORRAM PATH overnight. After I spent 10 minutes cleaning spider silk from my body, I continued on down to the beach. As some reference sites note, "...spider silk combine(s) the useful properties of high tensile strength and extensibility". It's not so freaking useful when you walk into 2 square metres of the stuff in the dark.
Anyway, I shall return another day to get some orb shots of the boat sheds. Probably carrying a machete, or a 2 metre long insect swatter.
