For those who came in late... I acquired an Olympus 8mm f/1.8 fisheye lens in the post-Christmas sales.
Today was SUPPOSED to be a shoot at the Coledale Rock Pool swimming pool, with lots of straight lines just bellowing out for the fisheye treatment.
Alas it was not to be. Look at the dawn light in this shot. After two weeks of La Nina rain it's bleagh, bland, boring and water-sodden. I decided to make do with whatever I could find in the rock shelf that juts out into the ocean from Coledale Beach.
For this shot I got down low and close to a gap in the rocks (which looks a little more like a chasm here) which allowed the lens to do its thing with the far end of the rock platform.
The sea spray beyond is a bonus though I don't know how obvious it'll be in the reduced size shot for this gallery.
