Here we're looking down the Avenue Mac-Mahon again, which I described in an earlier shot, but this time more zoomed in. So what's the brown tower?
It's the belltower of the Church of Sainte-Odile in Paris (Église Sainte-Odile de Paris), a Neo-Byzantine church in the 17th Arrondissement which was begun in 1935 and finished in 1946. (Which would have been quite a feat given the occupation.) The building is covered with three low cupolas, each representing one of the holy Trinity. The bell tower is the highest in paris at 72 meters, making it the highest in Paris.
It is named for Odile of Alsace, also known as Odilia and Ottilia, who reputedly lived from around 662 to 720. Hers is a rather interesting story involving being born blind, regaining her sight, restoring her murdered brother to life, dying and being restored to life herself, then dying again after describing the beauty of the afterlife.
