The fog has yet to lift from this winding path at the (then) Sebel Resort & Spa Hawkesbury Valley, (now, as of August 2021) the Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley. I imagine that on a sunny spring or autumn day this would be a good place to relax and ruminate about life in general, though whether I would have ever contemplated doing such a thing way back in 2006 is another matter. Both then and now I had and have an awareness of too little time and too many things to achieve.
Mind you, during my stay here with a friend we did get the Tranquillity Package at the associated Villa Thalgo spa. Unfortunately that package is no longer on their services menu, and I can't find any documents relating to it. I know that it was a two hour package, that she had an Indian head massage as part of hers, and that she had a facial while I was in a huge floatation tank which is supposed to deaden your senses and relax your mind. Since I can't in fact float in fresh water this would normally be expected to generate stress verging on panic rather than tranquillity, but it did actually work on this occasion, and it was the one and only time that my mind has switched off in about the last 150 years or so. (Bearing in mind that when I go for a coastal walk I always have the audio version of The Economist playing on my phone, so "powering down the brain" is not something that comes naturally to me. It was, however, rather enjoyable.)
I suspect that the tank has been removed from there. If so, it's a damn pity.
