So finally we're here. The National Gallery is a place that I've read about in art books for years. Tens of years. And at one point I wasn't sure whether I was ever actually going to be here.

The thing is, though, that when we rocked up to here it was just one more place in my extensive checklist. My head was so full of checklists and timelines and trying to catch up with lost time (#QantasSucks) that I didn't fully appreciate what I was standing in front of because so many other places also had marvellous things to see.

However it would not be long until I remembered why I wanted to come here.
