Piccadilly Arcade is an upmarket shopping gallery which dates back to Edwardian times. It leads through into Jermyn Street, which is famous for supposedly high-end clothing. Although truth be told, I've never appreciated some of the shirts that come out of there which lack shirt pockets. Those are essential as far as I am concerned, and I don't at all buy the argument that the shirts look more stylish without them.
It also leads into the St James area including St James's Square, Pall Mall and of course St James's Palace which I discussed in a previous shot.
However all of that is out of sight at the moment because we are still cruising down Piccadilly and can only see the front of the arcade. What we can also see is Santa Maria Novella, a name that is more commonly associated with city of Firenze in Italia. It was, according to the window, founded in 1612. We shall speak more of this in the next shot.
