One PBaser who hails from Alaska does some incredible work with Photoshop. Amongst other things, he will often emulate the very high contrast, edgy portraiture style of Andrzej Dragan.

Being short of human subjects, I've tried to emulate a similar effect with the only sitter... er, sleeper that I had to hand.

Hmmm... actually, when reduced to 1000 pixel size for posting the effect isn't quite as pronounced. Still, it was only a first attempt.
