Two random facts.
First, we used to have leadership team meetings on Tuesday afternoons which meant that I left the office late.
Second, the South Coast line's appalling service frequency and scheduling allows local Sydney commuters to take up the majority of the capacity of the South Coast services during the peak period. Doing so allows them to save themselves five minutes on their commute by treating south coast trains as express trains to Hurstville and Sutherland.
Result? I ended up needing to catch a late train home, which involved having dinner in the city then going for a walk to Central. That meant that darkness had fallen by the time I started that walk.
Of course, this shot was taken in August which was still in the winter period, and darkness came relatively early anyway.
On my walk back to the station on this occasion I passed by the Chinese Gardens in Darling Harbour. They were closed, of course, but through the window on the other side of the moat you could still see the interior lit up in contrast to the darkness outside.
