Margaret River Bakery, Margaret River, WA

Our first full day in Margaret River saw us heading out on a full day tour of the local area and some of its attractions. Specifically, we were on a "tour for people who don't do tours", and it was aptly named.

Before doing so, however, we had to stop off for breakfast and the place I chose was the Margaret River Bakery.

Margaret River Bakery is a very eclectic place right on the edge of town. But if you pay close attention to my cup, saucer and spoon, all of which are retro, mismatched and yet somehow in sync, you've probably already figured that out. Or if you didn't, the orange juice in a jar was something of a giveaway. Of course, what good is an eclectic retro cafe without decent food? We'll come back to that.

A word of caution about the times in this gallery; it was not until years after they were shot that I noticed that they were hours out of sync. This shot, for example, had an original time of 11:45, which seemed a tad late for breakfast. I had clearly forgotten to change the time on the Olympus E-P1 from Sydney time to WA time. In August the difference SHOULD have been two hours. However a 2 hour difference would have left the time for this shot as 09:45, with the last shot at the cafe being taken at 09:58. Except... I know from checking my correspondence that the tour that we did that day departed at 10:15, so there's no earthly way that we had only just started eating breakfast 15 minutes before that meeting. My best guess is that the E-P1's time had not been reset since we went off daylight savings time in the east, during which time the gap was three hours. I've therefore used the Adobe Bridge time adjuster to subtract 3 hours from the times. I'm 99% sure that the times are now accurate, but there may always be a teeny niggling doubt.
