Sometimes, it's nice to remind oneself why you make the early morning starts, why you put in so many hours in a job that sometimes you love and sometimes you loathe and which chews up and unconscionable amount of your lifetime.
Hopefully, it's more than just keeping a roof over the head and keeping food on the table. It's to get a bit of enjoyment out of life as well. And to indulge yourself in places like this, if only for a few days. Some people are not fortunate enough to be able to do that, and it would be arrogance to assume that one will always be able to given life's ups and downs. But right now, right this moment, it's possible. And those moments should therefore be savoured.
This is the main bedroom/living area of a boutique hotel that we stayed at for our first couple of days in Perth. The bed was large and comfortable, the furnishings tasteful and sumptuous. And the service was quite outstanding. If you're ever in Perth, I do highly recommend this hotel if you have the means.

Edit July 2024: The Terrace Hotel still exists, though it is no longer a Best Western Premier. In fact Best Western doesn't seem to operate in Western Australia any longer.
It's not really the same hotel at all, except for the building. The hotel closed down in 2018. It reopened under new management in 2022, with a stronger emphasis on the hospitality side of its operations. It's hard to get a vibe on whether it still has the same quality as before since most of the reviews that have been written about the current incarnation relate to the hospitality offering, and surprisingly few about the hotel offering. I suspect that the latter took a while to get back on line based on some articles that I read a few years ago now talking about how the check-in desk was only a part time affair. Nothing on the hotel's current web site suggests that that is still the case, though.
Addendum: My personal opinion is that Facebook is a sociopathic organisation that steals other peoples' intellectual property (including the images in this gallery) despite being explicitly denied permission to do so.
