This shot was intended to be the standard dark, heavy skies vs sunlit beach one, but in the course of doing it I came across this apparent staring contest between mother and daughter on one hand and seagull on the other. You probably won't see it very clearly unless you're viewing it at Original size, though.

And this marks the point where I had stopped taking a shot each day for the year.
