I have fudged the framing of this shot. Originally it was in portrait format using the concrete pathway leading down to here as a leading line. Then I noticed the swimmer's head over on the right and decided to make this a different shot.

The sign is probably not telling him to keep out of the water. At the time this was taken Austinmer rock pool was being refurbished and although still usable, the surrounds were not safe to walk along. The sign is therefore to keep him off the concrete walkway, not so much out of the water. But with those waves breaking behind I was rather glad to be nice, dry land.
