20150316_006429 Scenes From An Ordinary Lunchtime VI - Walking The Walk (Mon 16 Mar)

Union Street, Pyrmont

I've been shooting every day but haven't had a lot of time to do any processing for reasons that are related to, but this time a little more complicated than. just work. On this particular day I decided to just hang out around Union Square in Pyrmont and take some shots of the people and places. When I got this into Photoshop I found that I liked the green cycle path, I liked the stride on the guy, I liked the leading lines of poles surrounding him... but I didn't like the intensity of the colours of the buildings and trees which drowned all of the above out a bit, especially the strong sandstone colour of the building on the corner and the bright yellow of the building across from that. Consequently I felt it time to pull out the selective colour toolbox again.

The selective color isolates the figure and creates a feeling of him being alone. It is is very effective. The green color causes me to focus on him for som reason. Well done. V

Effective processing which highlights the lines and curves and adds a certain tranquility to the shot, especially apt with the lone figure.
