Sydney Cellar Door Event, NSW Food & Wine Festival, Hyde Park South, Sydney, NSW

There were some music acts touted as part of the event. No truly big names; a couple who have been backups in bands that one might have heard of, but not The Piano Guys or anything like that. There was a stage set up for them in the far section of the park. Up in the Mudgee section, though, the entertainment consisted mostly of single, uncredited acts. Such as this guy. At the time he was singing a cover of Powderfinger's My Happiness. I had shot him earlier in the day as well. There were about a dozen images, and this is the most animated he got in any of them.

He has a good voice. And he knows how to play that guitar. No, I mean he KNOWS how to play that guitar. But he wasn't really putting himself into his songs, or making eye contact with his audience; he was just "there". He deserves to succeed as a musician on talent alone, but if he wants to succeed as a solo artist I think he may need a tad more showmanship. I'll bet you that if you asked anyone who was there yesterday if they remember him being there today, the affirmative answers will be limited to photographers like me who grabbed a shot of him.

I'd like to see and hear him again at some point. It's unlikely as I have no idea who he is, but he's pretty good at the musical side.
