There didn't seem to be a lot of wind from any direction on the morning that I did this shoot. Thus when Jetstar's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner VH-VKD (JST38, inbound from Denpasar Bali (Indonesia) ) landed on runway 34L, another (unidentified) aircraft was taking off on the parallel 16L runway.
(Actually I can make an educated guess as to which flight that was from the time; that was most likely fellow Jetstar flight JST719, an A320 Airbus outbound to Hobart. Which would probably be more comfortable than the poky geriatric B737 that Qantas lays on to Hobart for its one flight per day, if, that is, I ever trusted Jetstar to get me to a destination without screwing me over on the booking. Which, after some first-hand horror stories that I've heard, I emphatically don't.)
This aircraft was almost new when this shot was taken; it was delivered in December 2013, barely more than a year earlier. The pandemic put it into storage between 27 March 2020 and 25 February 2022. As of the time of writing in August 2022, it's out in the skies again, doing the Denpasar Indonesia to Melbourne run this very day.
